URRÚS - Ireland's Community Addiction Studies Training Centre - Training Autumn 2011
Community Addiction Studies Course (CASC) - This course is for people living or working in the local community who feel they would like to be more effective when it comes to drug/alcohol issues. There are no education requirements to be part of this course, only a willingness to learn. The course runs for 100 hours over a 20-week period. Click here for more information.
Introduction to Addiction Studies This workshop is run over two days and it gives a good basic understanding of drugs and related issues. More information and booking form.
Homelessness and Drugs This half-day workshop will give participants an insight into the reasons for homelessness. Also, it explores the difficulties experienced by this group in accessing mainstream services. More information and booking form.

BeLonG To Youth Services
One-day training session on the subject of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender young people.
Topics Covered Will Include:
- LGBT terminology and issues
- Current research on Irish LGBT young people
- How to support young people coming out
- Challenging homophobic language and bullying
- How to make your school or youth service safe for LGBT young people(what kind of policies and procedures should be in place? How can you make the physical environment and the programmes taught inclusive of LGBT young people?)
The training will use a mix of presentation, case studies, roleplay, excercises, group work etc. and would be idea for anyone who works with young people or has an interest in this area.
Training Dates: 15th of September 17th of November
Time: 10am - 4.30pm Cost per Person: €50.00 (including training pack, lunch, tea & coffee)

Annie Kelly Education Bursary 2011
The Annie Kelly Education Bursary administered by the North Inner City Drugs Task Force, helps people from North Inner City Dublin communities access further education.

ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training Workshop
ASIST is a two-day, intensive interactive and practice-based workshop in suicide first-aid in run by The Deora Project on the 9th - 10th August, 2011. It is suitable for all kinds of caregivers - health workers, key-workers, teachers, community workers, Gardaí, youth workers, volunteers, people responding to family, friends and co-workers.

Dublin Port Company Scholarship Scheme
Since 2001 Dublin Port Company Scholarship Programme has enabled hundreds of local people to progress to third livel education or repeat their Leaving Certificate who otherwise may not have been in a position to do so. The 2011 Application form can be downloaded HERE
